We ambled down cobbled streets, barely wide enough for two people to pass. Shops filled with trinkets, chocolates, good-smelling food littered the narrow avenues. A small bookshop came into view (my weakness), and as I stepped inside and inhaled the leather and glue perfume of the air I was enthralled. I purchased this small blank specimen for an amount I don't recall, just so I could take the memory of this foreign and magical place back with me across the sea.
